The Work Was Free…

I will not always be here on guard.
The stars twinkle in the Milky Way
And the wind sighs for songs
Across the empty fields of a planet
A Galaxy away.

You won’t always be here.
But before you go,
Whisper this to your sons
And their sons —
“The work was free.
Keep it so. ”

Listening to LRH Lectures and Other Stuff I’m Doing

August 2, 2008 on 3:52 am | In freezone, l. kin, l. ron hubbard, lectures, scientology | No Comments

It’s been a very interesting and productive week for me. My work is going well at the moment, the weather is great, I’ve seen a couple of really good films (wall-e and the dark knight) both of which were excellent, wall-e in particular- wow! And I’ve been listening to lots of LRH lectures, namely the Game of Life series (1956) and have found them stimulating, enlightening, funny and overall some of the best lectures of LRH I’ve heard.

LRH was obviously in good form around about this time, and delivers lots of material about games. Scientology games theory is the idea that life is basically a game which consists of freedoms, barriers and purposes. A simple idea, but one I’ve always resonated with since the first time I found out about it when I read The Fundamentals of Thought…

By the way if you haven’t read The Fundamentals of Thought then you should as it gives a very good overview of Scientology philosophy.

As well as listening to LRH lectures (I’ve just started the Games Congress), I’m also reading a little of L. Kin’s book Scientology: More Than A Cult? This is a very good book and is split into two sections. The first section gives an account of the history and purpose of Scientology, the second section describes the tech.

L. Kin is a very good writer and tries to explain Scientology in language non-scientologists can fully understand. He is one of my favorite freezone scientology authors actually.

Anyway, that’s what I’ve been up to.

Scientology and Aliens – What’s The Big Deal?

August 1, 2008 on 1:55 am | In para-scientology | No Comments

There’s a lot of controversy about the alien factor in Scientology. What I’ve often observed is that the people who find it controversial have the naive idea that aliens don’t exist, despite a ton of evidence that they do, and that they have been involved with Earth for the last 60+ years.

I personally don’t have a great deal of interest in aliens or UFO’s etc, but a news story recently came to my attention and seemed worthy of commentary.

It seems the NASA astronaut Dr Edgar Mitchell has stated that there is an alien cover-up within the government. You can read more about this here.

This is big news for those who want disclosure about aliens. Dr Edgar Mitchell, who walked on the moon in 1971, is a very high profile advocate of the “alien conspiracy”, and is calling for disclosure from the government organizations involved in the alien cover-up.

NASA, unsurprisingly denied any knowledge of aliens.

So what does this all mean in a Scientology context? Well, certainly it validates aliens existing, and in a roundabout way improves LRH’s credibility when he talked about alien civilizations (less than 0.2% of his material mentions alien civilizations etc).

My speculation is that sometime in the not so distant future our governments may fess up about their alien contact. But what effect would that have on us, humankind?

Well, wouldn’t we be angry at our governments for lying to us for so long…?

Really then our governments are not in such a good position right now. They’ve been lying for so long that the truth will probably hurt them more if they tell it than if they continue to lie about it.

So maybe we shouldn’t be expecting disclosure any time soon after all…

But should we be concerned about aliens? Not really. Ultimately they’re just other beings in the universe playing The Game Called Life.
